About Essilor:

Essilor India is a part of the global Essilor Group, known worldwide for it’s work in vision care and lens technology. Over the years, the brand focused not just improvising eyesight, but also on improving the overall experience of buying eyewear.

When Essilor team approached us for their first brand store project of Koramangala, the intent was clear- this was not just an optical store, it was planned as a luxury-format store that would set a benchmark in presentation, brand placement and overall customer experience and a critical time limit in hand to hand over the store.

As an execution partner, our responsibility was to translate the brief into a practical, well designed & smooth functioning retail space from first measurement to final handover in time.

The Idea behind the store:

The goal was simply to build a store that feels high-end but not intimidating. The vision was to showcase premium eyewear in a clean & organized way, feel open, bright & welcoming environment, allowing smooth movement for customers, provide dedicated spaces for eye testing/ fitting area for the customers as per Essilor’s guidelines in the given timelines.

 

Process & Execution:

Started off with taking detailed measurements and carefully studying the site. Understanding the space constraints and opportunities the space allowed us to align the design vision with operational practicality. Once the site’s content was clear we carefully mapped the layouts as per Essilor’s requirements and retailer’s perspective. After multiple revisions and evaluation, we froze a layout which consist of zoning strategy, display opportunities which was most efficient and compelling.
 
The focus was to provide a dedicated space for their house brand (Ray Ban, Vogue, Oakley) which was carefully placed towards the entry to receive a prominent, dedicated showcase area that reinforced brand identity and visibility. Following with the rest of the brands like Dolce Gabbana, Burberry, Prada, Emporio Armani. Apart from eyewear for elderly customers, a dedicated space for kids’ eyewear with lenses has also been displays focusing on the health & care of the customer’s eyes. On the back area we displayed a billing counter along with a unit specially for lenses. Coming forward towards the right wall, the space was specifically designed for rest of the brands. Additionally, the store also discussion & seating areas for customers to comfortably get the selections done along with an engaging play zone for kids to enhance the in-store experience for families.
 
Each zone was designed to flow seamlessly into the next, ensuring both operational efficiency and comfortable customer journey all within the defined budget parameters. Lighting also played a pivotal role in shaping the store’s atmosphere. A careful balanced lighting scheme, paints and colour tone was implemented while creating warmth to create an inviting and premium retail ambience.
 
The final layout & design maximized wall display areas and maintain openness, luxury appeal. Each element was positioned well enough to highlight the brands and Essilor’s image in the industry.

 

Execution and Final Outcome:

Following cost finalization and approvals, the project transitioned seamlessly into production and on-site execution phase, driven by clearly defined milestone and strict timelines. Detailed working drawings and coordinated schedules ensured that material procurement, fabrication and installation progressed in alignment with the approved design.
 
Every stage of execution was closely supervised from civil work initiation (includes wall partitioning, ac installations, painting, glass fixing, lighting, outside facade) to fabrication and display installations in this semi turnkey project. Quality checks were conducted in every step of the project to maintain consistency of materials, detailing and workmanship.
 
The design achieved a sense of spaciousness and understand luxury with every element strategically positioned to highlight the brands with reinforcing Essilor’s strong industry presence and commitment to quality.
 
The store now stands as a premium optical retail space that feels modern, clean and comfortable. It offers a relaxed yet upscale eyewear shopping experience, strong brand presence, a bright, elegant and easy to navigate layout. More than just a retail outlet, the space has become a well- designed optical destination that reflects the client’s vision and our high standard fabrication experience.
